Sports fans who filed into the Mercedes-Benz Superdome experienced the NFL’s new security policy which places restrictions on bags.

The policy prohibits any bag larger than a clutch-size purse.

Other banned items include seat cushions, fanny packs, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, and computer bags.

Reactions from sports fans have been mixed.

“I don’t agree with it. It seems like somebody from the airlines went over and started working for the NFL,” Steve Tremblay said.”

WGNO News Reporter Darian Trotter asked, “What do you think it will be like for so many people who’ll be turned away?

“You know what, they may be upset at first but it’s for the betterment of everybody; especially with what happened in Boston.” “I know that’s why the have it,” Julie Armstrong replied.

In a statement on the league acknowledged that the Boston Marathon bombings were a factor in creating the new policy, but wasn’t the only reason.
