The latest Wheel of Justice report profiled a west bank murder case that’s not cold yet, but is certainly getting cooler.  It involves the shooting of a man in the 2900 block of Preston Place in Algiers.  Police released the photo of a man who they are calling a person of interest, not a suspect.  But they are not releasing the man’s name.

Also, police released a sketch of a man who tried to rob a tourist who was walking back to his hotel room in the CBD.  The man refused to hand over his wallet, so the robber shot him in the shoulder and left the 1100 block of Perdido on a silver BMX style bicycle.  The attack happened August 8 at about 2:30 in the morning.

Finally, Jefferson Parish deputies are looking for a pair of polite robbers in Metairie.  Deputies say the pair barged into the home of an elderly woman in the 200 block of Mandarin Street and tied her up.  They proceeded to go through the woman’s belongings.  But according to deputies, the pair called the woman ma’am and were generally polite during the crime.  At least one of the men was wearing a gray uniform that looked similar to something a mailman would wear, but deputies did not say it was in fact a legitimate uniform.
