It’s the perfect time of year to enjoy a frozen treat like the Jazz Fest favorite, mango freeze. Before now, you had to wait for the small window of opportunity, once a year to enjoy sweet, tropical happiness, but not anymore. A new partnership between WWOZ and Rouses makes mango freeze available all year at the Mid-City location. The dessert is hand-scooped in the cafe area.
Mango Freeze, a fruit sorbet, was first sold at Jazz Fest in 1994 to raise money for the WWOZ radio station. Since then, it has become iconic. Last year the station raised 50 thousand dollars solely from sorbet. you can read more about the history here: http://www.wwoz.org/support/mangofreeze
