Entergy announces lower electricity rates in New Orleans

Is your energy bill through the roof this summer? There may be some relief in sight (but just a little bit): Entergy announced it’s lowering rates by 2.5% for customers in Orleans Parish this fall.

The savings only affects electricity usage, not gas.

So basically if you’re bill averages out to $100, you’ll only save $2.50 a month.

Entergy says it will also refund nearly $4 million to customers who have been paying a higher interim rate since October while it’s been working with the city council to come to an agreement on rates.
