A water main break around the intersection of Burdette Street and Spruce Street flooded part of the Carrollton neighborhood early Tuesday morning, bringing traffic to a crawl and stranding residents inside their homes. Residents are urging drivers to slow down, to prevent water from washing into their vehicles, yards and homes, while Sewerage and Water Board crews work to repair the leak. The S&WB is advising Uptown residents they may experience low water pressure as the break is repaired. As a result of the break, Carrollton Avenue is closed from Hickory to S. Claiborne.
