NOPD officer injured while assisting with First Lady’s motorcade

A New Orleans Police Department motorcycle officer was injured while assisting with the First Lady’s motorcade, Officer Garry Flot confirmed to WGNO News.

The motorcade was on the west bank, near the intersection of Ames Blvd and August Ave when the accident occurred.

“The officer was taken to a hospital and his injuries are not life threatening,” said Officer Flot in a news release.

Officer Flot did not mention if the other driver in the incident was injured, or had been ticketed.
