The smoke billowing from the main runway at San Francisco Airport is now being cited as the reason for “the shutdown of the entire airport,” according to United Airlines employees. All flights arriving and departing from the airport have been halted.

(CNN) — The U.S. Coast Guard has transported one person linked to Saturday’s plane crash at San Francisco International Airport to Stanford Hospital, said Corrine Gaines of the Coast Guard. She did not provide additional information on the patient’s status.
