One man was hurt Friday afternoon in a fire at the Boomtown Casino in Harvey.

Terry Thibodaux, the Assistant Chief of Harvey’s Volunteer Fire Department Company 2, says a crew was working on a hydraulic door on the boat’s first floor.  Thibodaux says a high-pressure line was ruptured, resulting in a flash fire.

One of the worker’s legs was burned.  He was taken to West Jeff Medical Center as a precaution.

The fire also set-off two sprinklers on the boat.

But everything happened inside a restricted area of the boat and away from any customers or gaming activity.
