A little after 2:30 Thursday afternoon, emergency responders reopened Airline Highway near the St Charles/St John Parish line.

The highway had been closed for much of the day after two trucks crashed.

State police say one of the trucks was carrying hydrochloric acid which spilled onto the roadway.

Nobody got hurt, but traffic was closed in both directions until the acid could be neutralized.
