UPDATE: At about 2:45PM, LA DOTD reported that all lanes on US 61 have been opened.

St. Charles and St. John the Baptist Parish officials closed both directions of Airline Hwy following a hydrochloric acid spill near 1500 Airline Hwy in Laplace (click here for a map).

The DOTD reported that traffic going north on US 61 is being diverted at CC Road while southbound traffic must detour at LA 3217.

On the St. Charles Parish Facebook page, officials say an area 1/4 of a mile around the spill site is being evacuated because the acid can irritate people’s lungs.

Hey! I realize this is sort of off-topic but I had to ask.

Does building a well-established website like yours require a lot

of work? I am brand new to running a blog however I do

write in my diary every day. I’d like to start a blog so I

can share my own experience and feelings online. Please let me know if you have any ideas or tips for

brand new aspiring bloggers. Appreciate it!
