Brother Martin righthander Corey Giaconi’s quality pitching continues in American Legion play for the Peake BMW team. He has not allowed an earned run in 12 innings pitched. He has also struck out 12.

Coach Michael Cappo says one of Giaconi’s goals this summer is to improve his velocity: “As the velocity picks up on his fastball, his change up will be even better. His change up has been his go-to pitch, but the velocity will definitely help him.”

Staff ace Tyler Zamjohn signed with Tulane University, so Giaconi goes into next spring as Brother Martin’s number one starter.

Giaconi says he knows his team is depending on him: “Yes, I feel that they will. I am ready to step up. I am ready for any challenge.”
