Evacuteer Statues In Place For Hurricane Season

Evacuspot Sculputures: Art with a PurposeMonday, the City of New Orleans announced has its new Evacuteer sculptures in place for hurricane season.

In all, there will be 17 of the statues placed in neighborhoods around the city.

The statues will mark places where — during a mandatory hurricane evacuation — people without transportation can go to get a ride out of the city and to a safe shelter.

Friday WGNO News will help you get prepared for hurricane season with our news special “Hurricane Season 2013″.

It will include tips to make sure you’re prepared and offer useful information like how to estimate the cost of an evacuation.
