The Deadly Irony of Planned Parenthood
Irony is a strange thing made all the more strange when it has deadly consequences. It is ironic that the City of New Orleans is in an uproar of late over what Councilwoman Cynthia Hedge-Morrell terms “…senseless acts of violence”(1) i.e. murders and random shootings. Ironically, Morrell was slated to speak for a soon-to-be-constructed Planned Parenthood “clinic”. I’d like to ask Ms. Morrell why an “act of violence” committed on the soon-to-be born is any less “senseless” or outrageous? A strong argument is to be made that this moral equivalency is what drives the city’s culture of violence.
Do the promoters of Planned Parenthood not know the genocidal ramblings of its very infamous founder, Margaret Sanger? In her argument for “America Needs A Code For Babies”(2) Sanger preached forced sterilization and isolation for the “feeble minded… and others found biologically unfit by authorities qualified [to] judge.”
Sanger’s macabre descendants took to the lectern on Wednesday last to promote the virtues of their endeavor with an aide to Councilwoman Kristin Gisleson Palmer making the claim that “This … facility will give women… access to the resources needed to… plan for their future. With that access, these healthy women and their families will provide the foundation needed to sustain our communities for years to come.” Irony strikes again! Palmer doesn’t explain how aborting the next generation makes anyone other than the current, self absorbed generation’s inhabitants, “sustainable”!?.
Another speaker boasted that if you want to see abortions end in Louisiana, then put a Planned Parenthood abortion center on every street corner!(3) While we’re at it it, why not just join New York mayor Michael Bloomberg’s fight against sugary drinks by installing subsidized vending machines on every street corner.
And so, the irony of violent life in the City of New Orleans lurches forward, defended and promoted by citizens, government and clergy alike whom are unable to see that those who are unwilling to protect infants, the most innocent among us, give license to those who practice equal violence against the mature.
Article 8 of Sanger’s Baby Code reads
“Article 8. Feeble-minded persons, habitual congenital criminals, those afflicted with inheritable disease, and others found biologically unfit by authorities qualified judge should be sterilized or, in cases of doubt, should be so isolated as to prevent the perpetuation of their afflictions by breeding.”
3 ibid Dr. Julie Finger is quoted by NOLA.com saying.
“These legislators that are trying to block the building of the new Planned Parenthood facility, if their sole interest is to decrease abortions in Louisiana, then preventing Planned Parenthood is not the avenue to do so,” she said. “If you want to get rid of abortion in Louisiana, they should put a Planned Parenthood on every street corner.”
