As I sit here today delivering yet another commentary, I couldn’t help but think about all the men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice for you  and me.

It’s Memorial Day in the United States.  It’s our way of honoring those that were killed serving our country in the military.  Army, Air Force, Marines, Navy, or Coast Guard – those many brave Americans from all branches of the military that fought and died for us.   For America.  For freedom.  They gave for us so we could basically do what we want.

Like me, sitting here today giving my opinion on Memorial Day.  Like I do 3 days a week here or 5 days a week on the radio.  Spouting off my opinion.  Or you doing exactly what you want to do for a living.  Because with our armed service men and women guaranteeing our freedom, we have a choice.  They allow us to be free.  Some even died while providing us this freedom.

So I sit here doing another Channel 26 commentary thankful, very thankful that I live in America.   And very thankful for all the men and women that paid the ultimate sacrifice.

It’s Memorial Day.  The day America recognizes the men and women who died while providing us our freedom.  Don’t take it lightly.
