New Orleans police arrested a man accused of trying to burn down a church during a Sunday service in Gentilly.

Officers say 36-year-old Sanders Floyd poured a combustible liquid on the front doors of Kingdom Hall Church on Congress street and set it on fire.

Firefighters say church members extinguished the flames before they arrived.

They say 148 people were inside the church at the time.
