2,800 students graduated from Tulane University on Saturday, May 18th, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
Among them was Business major Tatum Tulane Bass. She’s the great-great-great-great-great-great niece of Paul Tulane, the philanthropist the university is named after.
Bass says it was an honor to hear the Dalai Lama speak at her graduation. She adds, “It was amazing to listen to him speak and to hear him talk about cooperation and working together. When you can bring family into the mix, it makes a difference.”
Bass admits she didn’t use her middle name the first three years of college because she wanted to have a normal college experience.
