Seventh Suspect Arrested in Mother’s Day Shooting

New Orleans police arrested a seventh suspect in relation to the Mother’s Day shooting that injured 20 people in the 7th Ward.

Officers say Monique Pepe allowed suspected shooter Shawn Scott to hide out in her residence.

Pepe was arrested Friday afternoon.

She’s charged with accessory after the fact of attempted second degree murder, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of heroin and possession with intent to distribute cocaine.

Four people are accused of harboring Shawn’s brother Akein.

Akein is the other suspected shooter.
