Police arrest Mother’s Day parade shooting suspect, 5 others

Police say 19-year-old Akein Scott is the guy who shot 20 people in the Mother’s Day second line parade shooting in New Orleans’ 7th Ward neighborhood. Akien is being held on $10 million bond.

His 24-year-old brother Shawn Scott is also under arrest.

Both are charged with 20 counts of attempted second degree murder.

Police have also arrested four other people accused of harboring a fugitive: Justin Alexander, Bionca Hickerson, Nekia Youngblood, and Brandy George.
