Celebrating the Marching 100: St. Aug’s marching band

St. Augustine High School’s Marching 100 are just as iconic today as they were 20 years ago.

In 1993, WGNO profiled their founder, Edwin Hampton. Now, the purple knights are setting their sights on marching in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California. So in tonight’s classic Real New Orleans, we look back at their legacy.

The St. Augustine Marching 100 band is hoping to play in the Tournament of Roses Parade in 2014, but it’s an expensive trip. If you’d like to help them make the journey to Pasadena, make a donation on their website: http://purpleknights.com/
