What Moms want on Mother’s Day
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – If you’re still looking for a gift for your Mom this Mother’s Day, new mom and PR professional Linzy Cotaya has some tips on what to look for – and what to avoid – on this special day.
Linzy Cotaya is a modern mom on the go. She loves the fact that Mother’s Dayis all about her.
“It’s an opportunity to give Mom something she’s not going to buy for herself.”
When buying a gift for a mom, she said simply put some thought into it.
“You have to keep it focused on what your mom would want for herMother’s Day,” she said.
Linzy has a 1-year old daughter, Annelise, who obviously can’t buy her a gift yet. Until she’s old enough, it will be the Dad’s duty.
“My husband made it special for my firstMother’s Day. He gave me a band that goes with my wedding band that has my birth stone along with my daughter’s birth stone together.”
Mother’s Dayis here again which means another gift for Linzy. She took us around Lakeside Mall to show us what moms really want.
“Maybe a perfume. It’s not something I would buy on a daily basis, so that would be special. Most moms would be interested in Coach bags, a luxury handbag too,” Cotaya said.
She said the top three things to stay away when gift-buying for Mom are washing machines, kitchen gadgets, and gym memberships.
Ultimately, she said the best gift of all doesn’t come in a box or bag.
“I think if I could take a couple of hours off, maybe go to the movies by myself, that would be a treat for me,” she said.
