Suspicious Device Found Near WWII Museum Was Probably Commercial Firework

New Orleans police say the device that was discovered last night near the World War II Museum and caused streets in the area to be closed for safety precautions was an old, weathered commercial pyrotechnic device similar to a large bottle rocket.

Police say the device appeared to have already been fired but may have been a partial dud.

They do not know where it came from but say it may have fallen out of a garbage truck.
