Expanding Kenner business praised for getting nutritious foods in schools

The United States Department of Agriculture is praising a Kenner business for its work getting nutritious foods on school lunch tables.

MMI Culinary Services serves about 200 schools in Jefferson and Orleans Parishes.

It’s expanding to service children in other parts of the state.

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack visited Kenner Wednesday to congratulate the business on its growth.
