The United States Attorney’s Office in New Orleans announced Thursday that former Jefferson Parish CAO Tim Whitmer will serve three years probation for his part in a conspiracy to commit bribery, wire fraud, and theft.
He must also pay restitution to Jefferson Parish in the amount of $160,430 and a $5,000 fine.
Next month, former parish president Aaron Broussard will begin serving a nearly four-year federal prison sentence for his role in the scheme that included arranging for his ex-wife to receive a parish paralegal supervisor job, and its salary, even though she was unqualified for the job.
