Tourism leaders pitched their business plan for the next five years.
It includes the celebration of New Orlean’s tricentennial in 2018.
The group said the celebration will bring in $11 billion dollars in direct spending, $700 million in tax revenue and create 33,000 jobs.
“We are here to show you this five year action plan with very specific steps that can transform New Orleans for its business community for its hospitality industry and for every resident.” Said Stephen Perry of the Tricentennial Consortium.
The plan also calls for projects that could bring major makeovers to the World Trade Center property, the Riverfront and Spanish Plaza.
