Some Slidell property owners are cleaning up after a brief but destructive storm.

What’s being categorized as a weak tornado touched down south of the airport Thursday afternoon.

It snapped tree trunks and branches; and dragged down power lines in the Oakmont Subdivision.

Several homes sustained moderate roof damage.

We spoke to several property owners who are cleaning up along the storm’s path.

“The back wall of the house was getting pelted with tree limbs, pine cones, and everything else that was flying,” said homeowner Ken Kittel.

There’s a lot of shingles missing off of homes, damage on the side, drain spots gone, flashings pulled off; it’s a mess,” said homeowner Kirk Drumm.

Power outages related to the storm were minimal.

There were no reports of injuries.
