Former State Rep. Copelin Arrested

Wednesday morning, Jefferson Parish deputies arrested former state representative Sherman Copelin.

Copelin turned himself in after being accused of theft and misapplication of payment.

He’s accused in a fraud case stemming from repair work on a church school damaged by Hurricane Katrina.

Copelin served in the legislature from 1986 to 1999.
