Ricky Tarrant hit a three pointer with 6.9 seconds to play as 8th seeded Tulane beat 9th seed Marshall 66-64 Wednesday night at Marshall. Tulane rallied from 13 down with 12:15 to play to claim its first win in the Conference USA tournament since 2009.

The game had 9 lead changes.

Tarrant scored 21 points. Josh Davis scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Kendall Timmons scored 10.

Tulane hit 7 of 11 three point shots in the second half.

“The biggest thing in the game was how we challenged our team to change the course of the game somehow,” said head coach Ed Conroy. “Our threes and the ability to get into the press on some makes we were able to get a flurry and the game changed.”

Tulane plays #1 seed Memphis at 6 pm Thursday night in Tulsa.
