A camera on a commercial vehicle captured a wreck involving a St. Bernard Parish deputy Thursday morning.

Deputies say Torraino Johnson refused to pull over for a traffic stop and later crashed into a deputy cruiser.

The wreck happened on Paris Road in Chalmette.

The deputy is expected to make a full recovery.

The sheriff’s office says after the wreck Johnson started running.

He’s accused of pulling out a gun when deputies cornered him.

The sheriff’s office says one deputy fired a shot and missed Johnson before his arrest.

Johnson is facing a list of charges including attempted murder of a police officer.
