The end of the week finally brought victory for the New Orleans Hornets.

The Hornets, who blew 17 and 21 point leads at home in losses to Orlando and the Los Angeles Lakers, almost blew another one. But, Ryan Anderson’s three point play with 1.8 remaining lifted  New Orleans to a 98-96 win.

Anderson took a feed from Grevis Vasquez and attacked the basket. He made the hoop and was fouled by Jared Jeffries. Anderson then sank the free throw.

Portland was down 10 points with 6:52 to go in the game. But, the Blazers rallied to take the lead with 11.2 remaining on a three pointer by Damian Lillard.

The Hornets (22-42) were led by Anderson with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Anthony Davis scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Portland was led by guard Wesley Matthews, who scored 24 points, 6 on three pointers.

The Hornets play at Brooklyn Tuesday night.
