The Plaquemines Parish sheriff’s office fired and arrested a deputy accused of payroll fraud.
They say Norman Phillips Jr. got paid for an off-duty work detail during his full time shift with the sheriff’s office.
Deputies say he admitted to the fraud.
They arrested him Wednesday.
He posted a $12,500 bond and has been released.
