CBD building falls damaging restaurant

At about 2:00 Tuesday morning, the wall of a building in the 400 block of Carondelet Street came crashing down and damaged the Singha Thai Cafe.

Nobody got hurt, but people in the area were pretty rattled.

“People walk by here, especially at lunch and dinner time,” said one man.  “The restaurant is crowded.  It is a popular place.  And just the fact that a building could implode or just shear off like this at any time without warning is scary.”

The cause of the collapse remains under investigation.
