Whole Foods To Open Store In Mid-City

Whole Foods Market will open a 25,000 square foot store at Broad and Bienville Streets.  The announcement is part of a bigger plan to redevelop Broad from Tulane Avenue to Bayou Rd.

The site that will be used once served as a Schwegmann’s.  Developers plan to bring other business to the building that boasts and available 60,000 square feet of space.

So far, the project is expected to create 80 to 100 new jobs.  Part of the financing includes a $1 million loan of which half could be forgivable.
