Cell Phone Video May Link Suspects To North Shore Arson

Two men face charges related to an arson fire in the Covington area that injured one firefighter.

The fire happened on January 14 on N. Lee Rd.

14 firefighters responded to the scene.  One received burns to his neck and required medical attention.

According to a spokesman, investigators who were looking into another crime were checking a suspect’s cell phone.  During their work, they discovered a video recording on the phone that showed the building burning while voices are heard explaining how they started the fire.

The home was abandoned.  One of the accused suspects, 21-year-old Michael Ellis Mathieu, once lived there.  24-year-old Corey D. Eshlemen was also arrested in the case.

Both men face arson charges.
