Carnival celebrations officially resumed Wednesday night with two parades that rolled through Uptown.

Thousands of spectators gathered along St. Charles to experience the Krewe of Druids parade followed by the Krewe of Nyx.

“I absolutely love it.  It’s the best time of year to be here, everybody comes in town, we have a great time,” spectator Ben Griffin said.  “A lot of people from out of town having lots of fun.”

“It’s my first Mardi Gras.  I just moved here two months ago,” spectator Sarah Gleitz said. “It’s awesome; it’s fantastic.” “There’s always a good time to be had in New Orleans.”

Both parades were well attended, despite the rainy weather.
