Commissioner Wants Super Bowl Back in New Orleans
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said the 34 minute power outage in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome won’t impact the city’s chances of hosting another Super Bowl.
“I do not think this will have an impact on future Super Bowls in New Orleans, Goodell said.
“I think we will be back here for Super Bowls, I hope we will be here ,we want to be here.”
The commissioner also said there’s no indication Beyonce’s halftime show caused the blackout.
Entergy and SMG are investigating the outage.
They say a piece of equipment designed to monitor the electrical load detected an abnormality.
The company says by design it opened a breaker to partially cut power.
Entergy says any statements on possible causes of the outage are speculation.
