Media crews from around the world are already converging on the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in downtown New Orleans.
The Convention Center will be the NFL’s center of activity until Super Bowl Sunday. Inside, you’ll find all sorts of interesting and amazing things including the massive NFL shop (it’s 30,000 square feet – the size of a large supermarket!) featuring NFL merchandise from all 32 NFL teams and lots of Super Bowl XLVII memorabilia as well.
There’s also a definite New Orleans & carnival (that’s Mardi Gras, for all of you non-locals) touch: you’ll find beads festooned with your favorite team’s logo.
The shop opens to the public on Wednesday (see the list of hours below), along with the other exhibits at the NFL Experience: an NFL theme park where you can get an in-person taste of what it’s like to play pro football. The NFL Experience will open Wednesday at 3 p.m. with a second line parade lead by Deuce McAllister and the Lombardi Trophy.
Tickets can be purchased over the phone by calling (866) TIX-4NFL (849-4635), online at www.SuperBowl.com or at the stadium box office at Gate A.
