When football fans gather for the Super Bowl at Champion Square they’ll have a huge reminder of what’s up for grabs.
A 20 story image of the Lombardi Trophy has been erected onto the Hyatt Hotel.
The larger than life image faces and towers over Champion Square.
It’s the latest edition to the list of buildings in the downtown corridor that are getting a Super Bowl make-over.
Local and visiting football fans have already taken notice.
“I wish I was staying,” said Matt Smith of Kansas City. “I think it’s going to be a great time.” “I think it sends a good message too; people are supporting it.”
“And you know what, it’s not over,” said Arthur Boisfontaine of Crystal Clear Imaging. “We have plenty more coming and there’s going to be little bits and pieces that are going to show up, and people are going to be even more excited about it.”
Crystal Clear Imaging is the locally based graphic design company that’s working in partnership with an Indianapolis company hired by the NFL to produce the designs.
The company plans to start placing a special graphic onto Benson Tower beginning Wednesday morning.
