The body of a Boutte man missing for three-weeks is discovered on the river bank in Kenner.

“Between the barge and the water and the bank, and that’s where the body is located,” says Sergeant Brian McGregor.  “We have the coroner’s office out here at this time. They’re trying to do their best to bring the body in.”

Detectives working the investigation scene one mile upriver from Williams’s Boulevard later determined the person is 39-year-old Ronald Miller Sr. Missing from Boutte since December 28th.

Crewmen on a passing vessel spotted Miller`s body Wednesday afternoon, then called the Coast Guard .

“We were alerted from the Coast Guard and the Coast guard called the Kenner Police Department,” says McGregor.

The St. Charles Sheriff’s Office reported Miller, who suffers from epilepsy, last seen dropped off at his home on Boutte Drive.

The coroner found matching tattoo photos on file to identify miller.

The cause of death will determine if police will open a homicide investigation.
