The city of New Orleans announced several days of activities in connection with the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.
The events will begin Tuesday, January 15, and end with a program and march from City Hall to the MLK Memorial on Claiborne Avenue on Monday, January 21.
According to the city, events this year will include a wreath laying ceremony, an educational series on civil disobedience and civil rights, a choral concert, a service project and an art exhibit.
The events are free and open to the public for participation. The main MLK Day program will begin at New Orleans City Hall on January 21 at 9:00 am and will be followed by a march at 9:45 that morning.
