A man from Slidell, recently released from jail in South Sudan, was arrested by the F.B.I. Thursday.

Mark McCabe is accused of taking kickbacks while working for a construction company in Afghanistan in 2009.

Federal investigators say he wired money into his wife’s bank account in exchange for awarding business to sub-contractors.

McCabe got home from Sudan Monday.

He spent more than a month in jail there after being accused of kidnapping.

Those unrelated charges were dropped.
