State Police, Tangipahoa deputies and parish attorneys teamed up to conduct a “no refusal” DWI stop on Highway 22 Thursday night.
Around 9:00 pm all motorists were stopped in both directions on a stretch of the highway in the Pontchatoula area.
Drivers suspected of DWI were tested one way or another, as a nurse was on hand to give a blood test to anyone who refused a Breathalyzer.
From a Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office Mobile Command unit, a parish assistant attorney was at the ready to expedite the warrant process for the right to take blood of any DWI suspect who refused a breath test.
State Police Spokesman Nick Manali said the stops will take place throughout the holiday season.
