Should the NFL get rid of kickoffs?

captureESPN says NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and the league’s Competition Committee is considering getting rid of kickoffs as a way to try to cut down on violent collisions.

The head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Greg Schiano, is suggesting that instead of kicking off a team would start with the ball at its own 30-yard line in a fourth-and-15 situation. If the team doesn’t  get the first down, the opposing team would take over with a great field position.
