The Mandeville Skippers are on an 8-game winning streak. They beat Catholic of Baton Rouge 28-21 last week, propelling them to a huge game against Archbishop Rummel on Friday. This week’s VooDoo Athlete of the Week is a big reason why.

Mandeville quarterback Glen Cuiellette starred in his team’s quarterfinal playoff win over Catholic Baton Rouge. Cuiellette ran for two touchdowns and passed for two more as the Skippers won 28-21.

Head coach Guy Lecompte says Cuiellette has what all great ones have: the desire to improve.

“Glen we knew was going to be special from the springtime,” Lecompte told WGNO Sports. “If there was something he needed to work on, you didn’t have to ask him to do it. He would spend, I’m telling you, sometimes two hours after practice. We’d have to tell him, ‘Glen, it’s getting late, man. It’s almost 7 o’clock. We need to get you out of here.’

Cuiellette passed for 317 yards and rushed for 69 more.
