Fallen deputies honored at candlelight vigil

captureJust one day after two deputies were shot and killed in an early morning ambush, the people of St. John Parish pay tribute.

Deputies Brandon Nielsen and Jeremy Triche were both died.

The front lawn of the Percy Herbert building where the two fallen deputies would report to work every day is now lit with candles in their honor.

There was a moment of silence to reflect on the ultimate sacrifice of the slain deputies and to pray for the two other injured lawmen still in the hospital.

Deputies Michael Scott Boyington and Jason Triche are both listed in stable condition.

Beyond Friday’s candlelight vigil, more blood drives are planned.

Donation accounts have been set up at a number of area banks in Laplace.
